The Best Steam Iron

A steam iron is something that is a little different than the traditional iron that you probably used in the past. It is something that is based on better and more sophisticated technology. I thought I could help you decide on which one you want by showing you the best steam iron to buy. I know that you want to get one that is going to do a good job at getting out wrinkles, but also be gentle on the clothing and fabric that you're using.

I'm sure you're aware of all the different brands you're going to find for steam irons. There is Panasonic, Rowenta, Black & Decker, Tefal, Conair and many more. I can't possibly name them all, but the variety makes it quite difficult to figure out the best steam iron for clothes and fabric that you will be using it on. This site was put together to help you understand certain things about steam irons and the brands you're going to find on the market.

Best Steam Iron on the Market

I have to say that the best one that I've used is the Panasonic NI-C78SR Steam/Dry Iron (click to see more). It is made of a stainless steel soleplate and I really like the fact that I can easily switch between a steam iron and a dry iron. I thought it would be best to start with some of the notable benefits of this particular item.

The great thing about Panasonic is that they're really the only brand that has a retractable cord. It may seem like a minor feature, but it just makes storing the iron easier. If you have a pet (dog or cat), than a dangling cord could be chewed on.

Another feature that I really like is that it produces a lot of steam. If you've never used a steam iron before than you're probably not aware of how important this is. You need enough steam to get all the wrinkles out. Many of the other irons on the market don't really produce that much steam and it can be quite annoying to do your clothes.

Lastly, the Panasonic steam iron allows you to remove the water tank. This is how this particular brand moves between a steam and dry iron. This means that you can go do your clothes on an ironing board, or you can use it vertically with the steam. Basically, you'll get the best of both words with this particular model and that's what I like the most. The price is also really good too. You can check out the latest price on Amazon, which usually has the cheapest. But this is the best steam iron of 2009 and probably 2010.

Best Commercial Steam Iron

If you're actually looking for a commercial steam iron then you're in a completely different game than the iron that I mentioned above. You need something heavy duty, which can handle a higher volume of clothing and fabric. Well, I have one that you're really going to like and the price is really good.

The SmarTek Professional Garment Steamer (click for more info) is the best that I've come across. It is heavy duty and it can do a massive volume of steam jobs. I think the most notable benefits that you'll get from this is that it will heat up in just 45 seconds. Many steam irons will take about 10-15 minutes to heat up, but this will do it in under a minute, which is amazing. It also has a rather large water tank at half a gallon (1.9 liters). This will give you 70 minutes of continuous steam before you'll have to refill it.

The end result that you get from this particular commercial steam iron is that it is going to look like it came back from the cleaners. The quality of your clothing will be great and if you're someone that always takes your clothing to the cleaners than this will pay for itself very fast. And speaking of the price, it is actually under a hundred dollars, which is a very good price for the best steam iron in the commercial market.

Smartek does an excellent job with their garment steam and it is something that you'll get a lot of use out of. If you're planning on getting a commercial steam iron than this is the one I would go for. It is something that I've been able to use to steam a lot of different fabrics from pairs of pants to table clothes.

Best Steam Iron Features

There are actually quite a few cool features that you can get in something as trivial as an iron today, so I thought I could talk to you about this. Most people view the iron as a very traditional item and that is really the case because it has been around for 120 years. Since we've entered the twenty first century we have come up with some big advances that you're going to like.

Electric steam irons have progressed to the point where you don't need a cord. That's right. There is no need to have a wire to use it. The cordless steam iron is something that is going to run off a battery that you can easily charge while you're not using it. I know recharging something isn't really something people want because they always forget. Well, you won't have this problem. It's not like you have to take out the batteries and put them in a charger. The steam irons come with their own dock center and it works just like a cordless phone.

Another interesting feature is that we now have digital steam irons. It may seem like something quite sophisticated for an iron, but it can be quite useful. You'll be able to read the temperature of the steam at all times on a little LCD screen. You'll be able to easily control the temperature to the exact degree. It is a very common feature that you're going to find on the dry steam iron and just the steam iron itself.
